CEO and founder of Kode Biotech, Stephen Henry, shared his story of developing a platform technology that has been used to create a cancer immunotherapy. To a packed audience at the Hotel Coachman, Stephen described his journey, which started as a lab scientist specialising in transfusion medicine.
Auckland University Professor and Head of the Medical and Rehabilitation Robotics Research Group, Professor Shane Xie presented to an open audience of PN Hospital staff. His presentation suggested robots will be the future of medicine, used for both medical surgery and physical recovery.
The grand prize winner of the 2015 Innovation DHB competition was Dr Aneesh Kumar, with his idea for a re-designed ENT device used during surgery. Dr Kumar’s proposed new design could result in improvements for patient comfort, better patient outcomes and less time in theatre.
Richard Taggart, the Apple Healthcare Lead for Australia and New Zealand, presented to an open audience of MidCentral Health staff about the capability of new Apple technologies.
