Dr Ken Clark
Chief Medical Officer – MidCentral Health
Dr Kenneth Clark, MBChB, FRANZCOG, FRCOG, FRTCOG (Hon), FRACMA is MidCentral DHB’s Chief Medical Officer. He has worked at MidCentral DHB since 1989 when he joined as a senior registrar. The following year he became a consultant, and took up the CMO role in 2002. During this time he has been heavily involved in regional service development and the enhancement of clinical governance at all levels – local, regional and national. He is the chair of the National CMO Group.
Director of Nursing – MidCentral Health
Michele Coghlan was appointed Director of Nursing in February 2014. Prior to taking up this appointment she was Nurse Manager- Clinical Services at Grey Hospital, West Coast District Health Board. Michele’s clinical experience includes medical, alcohol and drug, critical care, district, practice, psychogeriatric, aged residential care, rehabilitation and rural nursing. She has held numerous leadership and management roles, in addition to roles leading change projects and supporting professional development and education.
Angela de Zwart
Clinical Consultant – Orion Health
Angela is a Clinical Consultant with over 20 years experience as a Registered Nurse, primarily in ED. Angela has extensive experience in the implementation of clinical information systems from both the client and vendor side and now takes a lead in the definition and implementation of regional solutions in New Zealand. She has a particular focus on supporting clinical adoption, user centered design and solutions that both meet client needs and promote clinical safety.
Dr Chris Kirk
Director – Univentures Ltd
Chris has a PhD in Chemistry and an MBA. He has spent eight years working as the Commercialisation and Research Director at Massey University and then seven years as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Lincoln University. He is a business angel and has been part of a team launching four start-up companies. Chris has also worked with Canterbury District Health Board setting up a unit to support the Innovation Hub at Christchurch Hospital. Chris now works with tertiary education providers to nurture and support student entrepreneurs and innovators.
